Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2 is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Raja Menon. The film stars Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, with Amrita Arora, Mika Singh and Jackie Shroff making cameo appearances in the film. It is a sequel to the 2005 blockbuster bio-pic of Indian cricketer Dilip Kumar titled Dil Chahta Hai. The movie deals with an aging Dilip Kumar who takes up ballroom dancing with his grandson while reminiscing about his cricketing days while interacting on occasion with some of his more famous contemporaries. The movie begins with a young Vikram getting ready to leave for Mumbai, and his grandfather Dilip Kumar telling him that he is going to live alone. He then narrates an incident where he was bowled out by English bowler Willie Watson. While driving, Vikram is listening to the tapes of the last interview of Dilip Kumar, which was just before his death. Here, Dilip Kumar recalls his friendship with Vijay Merchant and how they would discuss cricket over dinner with other cricketers. The dinner used to be hosted by Mushtaq Ali at his mansion which used to be vast and beautiful back then. He mentions how he was told by his coach that he should learn to cut for fear of getting out playing the hook shot. Dilip Kumar also reveals that Vijay Merchant once asked him to bowl an India-ball (a ball that hooks in the air) to Bradman because India needed quick runs so much so it would be worth risking Bradman's wicket. He says how much he used to love bowling, but now cricket is not much fun for him. He also narrates an incident where two innings ended with the score of zero. Vikram meets his childhood friend's wife, Shilpa, who is running a dance institute. He is mesmerised by her and says that if she was around in the 50s, he wouldn't have had to say 'Main hoon hero tera'. He dances with Shilpa and is invited to dance with Shaba. The choreography for this song has been done by Shilpa. Dilip Kumar is invited for a felicitation ceremony in cricket stadium which was also the ground where he played when he was 16. Here, Dilip Kumar meets the young director of the documentary on him and his friends Vijay Merchant and Lala Amarnath (the son of famous cricketer C.K. Nayudu). In the next sequence, Vikram narrates how Dilip Kumar is now a ghost in his own house as he has been living with his son after the death of his wife. Now he has a grandson who he will have to take care of. He exaggerates how 80 per cent of the things have changed after Yashodhara's death and how changes in their marital status also had an impact on him(as a change in marital status causes a change in lifestyle). He recalls meeting his friends Amarnath and Vijay Merchant one last time at Yashodhara's funeral, where they planned that India would beat Australia at home at Eden Gardens. cfa1e77820
